Wondering how to edit this State Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. States standards might help.
An article about Mississippi with no mention of history other than two sentences on the Civil War and Hurricane Camille? No reference to Faulkner, Welty, the Delta, the Civil Rights movement? The desegregation of Ole Miss? Cotton? The Great Flood? Bilbo? The Klan? Worldcom? The New South? Jefferson Davis? Medgar Evers? Charles Evers? Byron de la Beckwith? The White Citizens Council? Mississippi Sovereignty Commission? Jim Eastland? John Stennis? Trent Lott? Brent Favre? Eli Manning? I've seen elementary school students' reports with more detail and insight.
I particularly like the comment how Chinese farm laborers did not take well to the plantation system. When was that written--1933?
There is a lot to be written here. We can start just by stitching in cross-references to other articles. And a question for previous contributors: how did you let so much get by you?
- Isn't the most famous thing about Mississippi the Nina Simone song? perhaps not to locals but worldwide it must surely be? --BozMo(talk) 22:33, 15 May 2004 (UTC)
Education/Colleges
Are we listing just 4 year colleges or are 2 year (junior) colleges listed too? Are we going to seperate the two types? --207.181.42.20 19:59, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)
