Habits are formed from thoughts and actions. The total sum of your habits forms your character.
Forming a habit is often as simple as thinking about the same thing repeatedly and acting in the same way each time a situation calls for that action/thought.
Breaking a habit requires a great deal of conscious effort but follows essentially the same process.
Therefore it is imperative to actively promote good or desired habits and watch out for undesirable habits that may be formed without conscious effort.
