Wikipedia contributors from Fort Wayne include: :If you're from Fort Wayne, add your name here, click the ?, and write something about yourself.
This probably isn't a good idea, as all of our city and town articles would be filled with non-encyclopedia information. Everyone participating in Wikipedia, including folks from Fort Wayne, are encouraged to make their own personal page under their own names. -- Stephen Gilbert
I agree with Stephen, but there's a neat idea here that we should try to accomodate. I'd love to get together for a social beer with other participants from my area. This would be a lot of fun, and of course might strengthen the project by helping us to create a real community of sorts beyond the web community.
Where should such information be collected? --Jimbo Wales
Why not on the Wikipedians page? It would be simple to add your city and country to your name. -- Stephen Gilbert
Sorry, but I was confused as to where to go to create a personal page, and I missed the Wikipedians page. Either the userprefs page or the Wikipedia FAQ should explain how to create a personal page.
It's totally open how you want to create a personal page. Some people don't have any at all, although I think almost all the longer-term participants do. See Wikipedians for examples.
I really like the idea of having subpages (!) of Wikipedians devoted to people from particular areas (like Australia, as someone's already done). --Larry Sanger
Population
Which is the correct population figure - the 220,000 one given in the intro paragraph or the 205,000 one given in the "Demographics" section? Funnyhat 22:40, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- If you read the entire demographic section - including the last sentence, the answer is clear. DAVODD 02:59, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)
