- King Solomon - a super-intelligent ape that is the sidekick of Alan Moore's Tom Strong
- Titano the Super-Ape - villain from Superman comic books
- The Weeping Gorilla - a depressed philosophical ape that is an icon and repeating theme in Alan Moore's Promethea comic books
