Cobo Arena

Cobo Arena is an indoor arena in Detroit, Michigan, adjacent to the Cobo Conference Center. The arena seats 12,191. It has been the home of the Detroit Pistons of the NBA (from 1961-1978), the Michigan Stags of the WHA (1974-1975), the Detroit Dogs of the American Basketball Association (2000-2001), the Detroit Rockers of the National Professional Soccer League (along with Joe Louis Arena) from 1990-2001, and the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team (along with Calihan Hall). It is attached to the Cobo Center convention and exhibition hall and is served by the Detroit People Mover's Cobo Center station.
Cobo Arena was the site of an infamous incident on January 6, 1994, when a masked man attacked figure skater Nancy Kerrigan with a metal baton at the U.S. Olympic qualifying competition. The attacker was later found to be an associate of Jeff Gillooly, the husband of competitor Tonya Harding.
Cobo Arena has served as a venue for concerts for many years. Concert albums of KISS (Alive!) and Bob Seger (Live Bullet) were recorded in the arena.
