Boxrec.com is a website dedicated to keep updated records of professional boxers, both male and female. As of March 2005 the BoxRec database contains records of 261,324 boxers and 917,807 bouts. The objective of the site is to document every single professional boxing match and boxer from the instigation of the Queensbury Rules up to the present day.
BoxRec has now embarked on a mediawiki based encyclopaedia of boxing BoxRec Wiki (http://www.boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Main_Page)
The website has 197 editors (March 2005) based in many different countries:- Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cuba, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Peru, The Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States, Venezuela and Wales. The site's Japanese collaborator, Joe Koizumi, is a veteran writer who has written articles and taken photos for Ring Magazine, and who also writes about boxing on Japanese newspapers.
