Zuppa Circus

Zuppa Circus is a theatre company that tours Canada from a base in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was formed in 1998 by Sandy Gribbin and Ben Stone. The company's regular director is Alex McLean.
Zuppa Circus specializes in physical theatre and many of its members have trained with Philippe Gaulier in Paris. They create their plays via a process of collective creation, in which original writing is adapted and expanded during the rehearsal process.
Principal creations:
- Nosferatu (1999-2001), inspired by F.W. Murnau's film Nosferatu
- The Door in the Wall (2002), inspired by the short story by H.G. Wells
- Uncle Oscar's Experiment (2002-2004)
- Radium City (forthcoming, 2004), inspired by Fritz Lang's film Metropolis
