Woodford is a place in on the edge of Epping Forest in the London Borough of Redbridge, north-east London
Woodford is divided into three areas: South Woodford, Woodford Green and Woodford Bridge, which gets its name from the old bridge over the River Roding.
Woodford is part of the parliamentary constituency of Chingford and Woodford Green, which is currently represented by Conservative Iain Duncan Smith, who was the party's leader from 2001 to 2003. Previously the area had been represented by Norman Tebbit, and, when it was part of Epping, by Winston Churchill between 1924 and 1960. Churchill is commemorated by a statue on the Green at Woodford.
