Wood (classical element)

In Chinese alchemy, wood was one of the five elements.
Wood's attributes were considered to be strength and flexibility, as with bamboo. Spring time when new growth sprouts from the earth. It's direction is east.
Wood is associated with feelings of anger or depression in chinese medicine.
Organs associated with this element are the Yin organ liver and yang organ gall bladder. See also: Five Elements
The NieChing atributes to the gall bladder "The position of an important and upright official who excells through his decisions and judgement". A person's decision making ability can reflect the condition of the gall bladder.
"The Liver has the function of a military leader who excells in his strategic planning". Also, the liver houses the soul.
