Wiesner building
|
The Wiesner building houses the MIT Media Lab, the Center for Bits and Atoms (Neil Gershenfeld's lab) and the List Visual Arts Center. It was designed by Ieoh Ming Pei & Partners. It is named in honor of former MIT president Jerome Wiesner and his wife Laya and dedicated in 1985.
The Wiesner Building is known to the MIT community as either the Media Lab or Building E15. The building's exterior has a tile-like look which has been the target of a number of hacks (pranks) by MIT's students.
