Wideband is a relative term used to describe a wide range of frequencies in a spectrum. Wideband in speech services means that the used speech frequency response covers 50-7000Hz. The opposite of wideband is narrowband.
Automotive: A Wideband oxygen sensor, used for internal combustion engines, is an oxygen sensor that can measure accurately a wide variety of Air/Fuel ratio values, as compared to a Narrowband sensor, which is only accurate at or very close to stoichiometric (14.7:1 when working with gasoline).
