Whitemoor (HM Prison)

HM Prison Whitemoor is a prison near March, Cambridgeshire.
Built on an old railway marshalling yard, Whitemoor prison is a maximum security prison for men, first opened in 1992. It houses around 500 of the most dangerous prisoners in the UK.
In September 1994 six prisoners, including five IRA members, escaped from the prison's Special Secure Unit after smuggling guns into the prison. All were later recaptured.
