Westport is a town located in Dane County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,586.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,586 people, 1,546 households, and 1,049 families residing in the town. The population density is 62.3/km² (161.3/mi²). There are 1,752 housing units at an average density of 30.4/km² (78.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.69% White, 0.61% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.25% from other races, and 0.33% from two or more races. 0.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,546 households out of which 25.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.4% are married couples living together, 3.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% are non-families. 25.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
