Westchester is an unincorporated suburban community and census-designated place located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 30,271. The approximate limits of Westchester are considered to be S.W. 8th Street(Tamiami Trail), S.W. 40th Street(Bird Road), S.W. 107th Avenue, and the Palmetto Expressway.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.4 km² (4.0 mi²). 10.4 km² (4.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 30,271 people, 9,764 households, and 7,947 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 2,914.6/km² (7,539.9/mi²). There are 9,938 housing units at an average density of 956.9/km² (2,475.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.78% White, 0.61% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.81% from other races, and 2.23% from two or more races. 85.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 9,764 households out of which 28.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.5% are married couples living together, 15.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.6% are non-families. 14.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.07 and the average family size is 3.33.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 18.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 23.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 87.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.4 males.
