Wayland Township is a township located in Allegan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 3,013.

Location of Bradley, Michigan
- Bradley is an unincorporated community situated just east of exit 61 off U.S. Highway 131 at Template:Coor dms. The ZIP code is 49311 and the FIPS place code is 09880. The elevation is 824 feet above sea level.
- Shelbyville is a small unincorporated community in the south of the township on the boundary with Martin Township at Template:Coor dms. The ZIP code is 49344 and the FIPS place code is 72900. The elevation is 831 feet above sea level.
- The city of Wayland is at the northwest corner of the township, though it is politically independent.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 86.8 km² (33.5 mi²). 84.8 km² (32.7 mi²) of it is land and 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.27% water. The Rabbit River loops through the north of the township from the northeast to northwest corners. The southern portion is dotted with numerous small lakes. The extreme southeast corner touches on Gun Lake.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,013 people, 1,053 households, and 824 families residing in the township. The population density is 35.5/km² (92.0/mi²). There are 1,169 housing units at an average density of 13.8/km² (35.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.45% White, 0.40% African American, 1.46% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.80% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. 2.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,053 households out of which 41.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.3% are married couples living together, 6.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% are non-families. 16.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.83 and the average family size is 3.15.
In the township the population is spread out with 29.8% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 109.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.8 males.
The median income for a household in the township is $46,853, and the median income for a family is $49,675. Males have a median income of $38,381 versus $26,400 for females. The per capita income for the township is $18,870. 2.8% of the population and 0.5% of families are below the poverty line.
