Vance Hartke

Rupert Vance Hartke (May 31, 1919–July 27, 2003) was a Democratic U.S. Senator from Indiana from 1959 to 1977.

Hartke was famous for his opposition to the Vietnam War. He was defeated for reelection in 1976 by Richard Lugar.
