Valmeyer is a village located in Monroe County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 608.
The original site of the village was inundated in 1993 by a historic flood of the Mississippi River. After the flood receded, the village relocated to higher ground about 2 miles (3 km) away.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 8.7 km² (3.3 mi²). 8.6 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.90% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 608 people, 222 households, and 166 families residing in the village. The population density is 70.5/km² (182.7/mi²). There are 241 housing units at an average density of 27.9/km² (72.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.68% White, 0.33% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.49% from two or more races. 0.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
