Hi, do a wikipedia search for NVC (national vegetation classification), this is an ideal examination tool for zone 4-5 permaculture design, and looking to build an open source computer program to aid analysis -evaluation-design. Am also going to make an open source companion planting spreadsheet.

I see you uploaded Image:Nevermind.png and made a general fair-use claim. Please be aware that it still needs information on source, copyright, etc. See Wikipedia:Image description page#What to include on an image description page for details. Also consider mentioning it on Wikipedia:Fair use. Thanks! —LarryGilbert 22:40, 2004 Mar 21 (UTC)

Hey, is there any evidence that the bass player for Trapeze was named Pete Wright in the first place? Or that such a band even existed? I know that you've checked up on Michael a lot, but I want to make sure that I'm not spreading some misinformation of his that has managed to slip through. (A reply on Talk:Trapeze (band) would probably be ideal.) Thanks! -- Toby Bartels 01:08, 8 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Dear Quercus robur, i share your concerns. I was not involved in the edit war, because the only thing i did was to replace a complete ridiculous sentence (ridiculous... my POV?) in the intro, which described alternative medicine as the process who does not kill people like chemo. I also added an explanation of the protection/editing in the Talk Page. As for the disclaimer, thats a funny story. MrNH, our friend, removed it and then asked in the talk page where the ... was it. Well, what would you do? But i agree with your comment and i usually dont like do get involved. But this MrNH guy annoys me and thats why and through with this conflict. Hello Quercursrobur,

The french wikipedia is using one of your uploaded image ( [2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Oakbark.jpg) ) can you describe the license information about this picture ? Is that an original work under GDFL or another license ? Is it used under "fair use" ? :0))

If you can please update the license information on the page and notice me on my french talk page, you will be most welcome !

[| My french talk page (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discussion_Utilisateur:Hashar)] Thanks a lot :)

Hello

I'm still getting hang of the messaging system here, Quercusrobur. I left a couple of replies to your message a while back but I left them on your regular page. Someone recently pointed out to me that I should leave messages on your "talk" page. Sorry, I didn't realise there was difference!

Anyway, what I'm trying to find out is: what did you object to on the "Vegan" page. I thought I was being very fair and neutral toward vegans and simply making the article more factual. Did you feel I was anti-vegan? I'm not at all.

There's been a long gap since your original message to me, probably because I replied in the wrong place.

I'd appreciate clarification on your message, though. You mentioned NPOV - which I thought I was already doing.

Sorry, Quercus, to see you taking leave from us. Let's hope it is only for a short(ish) time, we shall be missing you and your wisdom. I have only just realised you had said farewell to us. Enjoy your leave and take it easy --Dieter Simon 23:44, 8 Mar 2004 (UTC)

it's been hard for me to realise that I can't take ownership of some pages, but there are still a few pages that I consider my babies- take care of them

you know, many of the pages you wrote, I consider yours :-) I suppose it is just as bad as you thinking there are yours :-) still, they are. Some, I remember, I translated in french, but I still consider them yours, even in another language ;-)

You're missed

Just so you know. We need editors with good sense and intelligence, and you're one. I hope you get the opportunity to drop by every now and then in the future -- thanks for everything you've done here, and good luck on whatever you're doing now, and I hope you're well -- and that we see you again. Peace, BCorr|Брайен 22:44, 7 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Yes you are

Why I reverted your "Overview" section on the Beatles

Wikipedia:Lead section specifies that a good article needs a lead section, or an introductory paragraph or two, in other words. Often articles on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates are rejected due to a lack of a lead section, which makes one more essential for the Beatles as it is already featured. Hope you'll keep on editing. Johnleemk | Talk 07:51, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

An image

Thanks for uploading Image:Situ2.png. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) Thanks so much, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 02:13, Oct 5, 2004 (UTC)

Graham (or Quercus Robur) has taken a period of indeterminate Wiki-leave as he has informed us on his user page. I am sorry, but he won't be monitoring his pages for a while. I don't know where that leaves these queries and messages. Perhaps you can help and take care of them? Dieter Simon 21:20, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Ram-Man&action=edit&section=new)| talk) 18:27, Dec 8, 2004 (UTC)

Unverified images

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the imagesand I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. Peter O. (Talk, automation script) 23:29, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

    • All the images mentioned above are mine-either my own drawings or photos I took myself. Feel free to tag them, I'm afraid I havn't got the time at the moment quercus robur 19:31, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
      • I've gone ahead and tagged all the images listed here as GFDL. Thanks for your contributions! --MaxPower 15:36, 2004 Dec 23 (UTC)

Also:

    • Scanned from personal collection. I guess you'd tag it as 'fair use', I meant to ask Cliff last time I saw him but forgot, but i'm pretty sure he wouldn't object. Same goes for any Crass artwork, as long as it's not in the spirit of 'rip off' they generally couldn't give a fuck where it's used. quercus robur 01:18, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Also:

A couple more (sorry for the hassle!):

Um fraid I've forgotten where I found those images- on the net somewhere as free to use images IIRC... Can't promise that though... It's so long ago quercus robur 00:21, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Fair use tag I guess- I'm away from home at the moment and a bit pissed (in the UK sense of the word, ie, drunken- will try to sort when my actb is more together unless anyone else fancies doing it??? quercus robur 00:21, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Asbestosis Compensation and Liability Disputes

"Oak", I'f you get the chance I'd welcome your input on [3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asbestosis_-_Compensation_and_Liability_Disputes) and the preceeding (now archived) VfD debate archive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Asbestosis_-_Compensation_and_Liability_Disputes) . (There was a bit of a heated debate at the outset, but it seemed to calm down and the community vote decided on keeping a standalone article).

IMHO, the article has undergone reasonable revision (both during the debate itself , and subsequently), and maybe the time would be ripe to reconsider the NPOV and CLEANUP tags. What do you think? Wikityke 22:52, 21 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Made some sort of contribution- not sure how helpful it is... quercus robur 01:33, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Thanks Quercusrobor. (I subsequently added a little more to the text, and some references on research results, as suggested by EdPoor. Wikityke 14:01, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)

X-Ray Spex

Thanks for the tweaks to X-Ray Spex; I was only about two years old when the band came and went, but their album is one of my favourites. I tried to find a way to put this odd thing [4] (http://www.roctober.com/roctober/greatness/xrayspex.html) into the article, but I didn't try hard enough. -Ashley Pomeroy 18:11, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Re: The Flowers of Romance

Howdy! Looks like all the edits to The Flowers of Romance (band) lately are either by you, myself, or some anonymous associate of Tony Blackplait. Weird stuff going on with that article. Whenever I would dispute Blackplait's involvement in the original Flowers of Romance, the guy would come back and revert his own edits. Now he's created a duplicate article at The Flowers Of Romance which is now listed at VfD. Just want to make sure you knew which edits belonged to which editor... Generally I've been removing the Disputed, etc. tags after the guy removed the dubious claims. Take care, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:15, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hi again, as you may have noticed by now we had another mini-edit-war. Finally the guy moved the information about the "new" Flowers of Romance to its own article, The Flowers of Romance (orchestra). Of course, I had suggested to him a month ago that he do this. (Now, whether the new band is notable enough to justify keeping the article is a different question.) As the (original) article no longer mentions Tony Blackplait etc. I removed the "Disputed" and "Dubious" tags. See [[Talk:The Flowers of Romance (band). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 04:03, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Free improv

Hi quercus, sorry it took me so long to reply about the free improv deletions. I've finally done so on my talk page (basically, I've got it on my watchlist, but probably won't be a lot of use keeping an eye on it). --Camembert

Question about Veganism

I note you have exposed yourself as a vegan. I have some sympahies to vegetarians making the leap to excluding eggs and dairy. The former is an industry where many male chickens need to be killed and the latter relies on the production of beef. I am sure you are able to, but you need not expand on these to convince me of being a logical step for a vegetarain to make. However the area that thing confuses me is the exclusion of Honey. Bees may be cultivated without suffering or killing to produce honey. The same might be said if you had pet sheep. Surely using the wool they produce does not have to involve killing or cruelty? You may however not like the stress it might cause? I leave it for you to answer, but you wouldn't be able to apply this to the limited cognition of Bees who generally can thrive and give us honey. VfD Nominations

Annoyingly, nominating an article for deletion is actually a three step process. Please follow the steps at Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion#How_to_list_pages_for_deletion. Also, make sure to use the vfd2 and vfd3 tags listed there to enter your reason for deletion and place the page on the deletion log. That's how other people will be able to see the nomination even if they don't happen to go to the page in question. I've gone back through your edit history to format the entries you've already tagged and added them to the log for July 8. Thanks for helping to keep the place clean.
