"Click"
I've noticed you have modified a bunch of the planet pages to include the phrase "Click for larger image" under the photos. While this is fine for those of us with graphical browsers, not everyone uses a mouse to view the Internet, nor does everyone even see images. I think a better solution would be to have a link that says "Larger version" or "Large photo." Links should make sense when extracted from the text and viewed alone; links that just say "click here" are hardware-biased and not helpful if you don't see the surrounding text or images. (Some blind people, for example, use programs that can read the links on a page. When a link says just "click here," they have no way of knowing what's behind that link.) --Bkell 20:58, 19 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- Actually, my suggestion is twofold. First, the word "click" should be changed to something less mouse-centric. Second, the text itself should be made a link, so that even folks who don't have image-viewing capabilities can see the details about the image if they want them. --Bkell 21:54, 19 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- Addendum: Actually, does Wikipedia do something with images automatically so people without image capabilities can see the image details? I don't actually know how it works. --Bkell 21:56, 19 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Salt Lake 2002 photo
Hey, thanks for contributing the beautiful photo of the Olympic flame stand at the 2002 Winter Olympics! It made the page a factor 10 or so better IMNSHO :-) --Wernher 00:22, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the redirect and sorry for the embarassing mistake! Was working on the Dutch Wikipedia and got mixed up between the languages when checking for a similar article here. 129.105.186.193 04:16, 1 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Table Tennis Picture
Hi Minesweeper,
I do appreciate your inclusion of the picture in the TT wiki, but I do have to say that you might be able to find a pic that better represents the speed and athleticism of the sport. Like: [1] (http://http://www.usatt.org/images/arnold/arnold5.jpg) :)
Please, don't use this jpg without first getting permission from Royce Wong. You can see the full set of pics at: http://www.usatt.org/tip_photo/031504.shtml
By the way, is that you?

Strange space in "Marshall Plan"
- from the pump
Does anyone know why there is a large gap before the table in the "Marshall Plan expenditures" section of Marshall Plan? It appears in all the different skins. Is something clashing with the new software? --Minesweeper 01:19, 30 May 2004 (UTC)
- The HTML indentation confused the new software. As a stop-gap, I've removed the indentation. In the longer term, the page should be migrated to the new table format. You should file a bug on this (hey, I'm sleepy!), although a fix may not be possible. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 01:31, 30 May 2004 (UTC)
Elliott Abrams
Hi, I just noticed your edits to Elliott Abrams. You converted many instances of US to U.S. I have done the opposite many times. I searched the help pages for some guidance and only came up with this: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (acronyms). It is no big deal, only I hate the idea of working at crosspurposes. -- Viajero 10:25, 6 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Game 6
The game 6 article referred to a single, specific game, not the 1986 World Series as a whole. You should revert the page to the way it was before, and if you like, create a link from the "1986 World Series" page to the "Game 6" page.
thanx
Mine, Very nice reformat at perfect game. Thank you much for it. ww 18:25, 14 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Please comment on Variable
Hi! As you are one of the people who has edited the article "Variable" recently, I would like to ask your advice. Taku and myself have a difference of opinion on a section of that article. If you have the time, could you take a look there and at Talk:Variable and provide your input? Thanks! --FOo 01:34, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hello. I found you from the history of the NVIDIA Corporation article and I noticed hat you study EE and CS. I am looking for worthy individuals who are interested in hardware technology, computer science and mathematics. If you are this kind of person, I would like to invite you in a non-Wikipedia project for the creation of CS and IT wikis. If you like this idea, please list your name in the User:Npc/List page. Thanks. Npc 12:14, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Article Licensing
I've "started" the Free the Rambot Articles Project which aims to get users to release all of their contributions to the U.S. state, county, and city articles under the CC-by-sa 1.0 and 2.0 license (at minimum) or into the public domain if they prefer. A secondary goal is to get those users to release ALL of their edits for ALL articles. I've personally chosen to multi-license all of the rambot and Ram-Man contributions under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License so that other projects, such as WikiTravel, can use our articles. I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all your contributions (or at minimum those on the geographic articles) so that we can keep most of the articles available under the multi-license. Many users use the DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual template (or even MultiLicensePD for public domain) on their user page, but there are other templates for other options at Template messages/User namespace. If you only prefer using the GFDL, I understand, but I thought I'd at least ask, just in case, since the number of your edits is in the top 50 most. If you do want to do it, simply just copy and paste one of the above two templates into your user page and it will allow us to track those users who have done it. For example:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain (which many people do or don't like to do, see Wikipedia:Multi-licensing), you could replace DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual with MultiLicensePD -- Ram-Man 16:53, Nov 24, 2004 (UTC)

Image:Galilean satellites.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Galilean satellites.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, – Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 17:37, Dec 7, 2004 (UTC)
PD-USGov Picture
Hello
In reply to your talkback. I would like to thank you for letting me know about the copyright status of that picture. I assumed because it is a picture of Kufuor and Bush but has no indication of the source. It would be fair as it is just a picture of two leaders. But because (And I again asumme) you are American, you would have a better knowledge of U.S fair use laws then me. I'll try to keep in mine what you have said :-) Squash (Talk) 21:28, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)

Political party color codes?
Hi! I understand you are the maker of the "fancy tables" for lists of office holders, like the one on List of Governors of California. The List of Governors of Mississippi was well-structured, it just needed conversion, so I did that. I was wondering tho, do you have a list of color codes for political parties and strange cases? B/c I came across a Union-Democrat, a provisional governor and a military governor. I figured out red=Republican, blue=Dems, yellow=Whigs, etc., by example, but I was wondering if there was guide. Thanks!! jengod 00:16, Dec 28, 2004 (UTC)

High Res Image of Barristers?
Hi Minesweeper: I need to get a high-res image of the Barrister photo in Wikipedia. I think you contributed it to Wikipedia.
I would love to use the Barrister photo for a project we are doing to assist US law students (who cannot get into an ABA school) to attend an English law school and would like to use the photo to show what Barristers look like.
It is under the entry: Barrister. Sincerely, Nigel Grant.
Email address for Nigel Grant (Barristers)
I am new to this so please don't snigger.
My email address is grantslaw@aol.com. I need that photo before the weekend if at all possible?
the issue of school articles
In November 2003, you participated in a VfD debate over Sunset High School (Portland). The debate was archived under Talk:Sunset High School (Portland). The issue over this article remains contested. moreover, there still does not exist a wikipedia policy (as far as i can tell) over what to do in regards to articles about specific U.S. public school. The article in question has been re-nominated for VfD at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Sunset High School (Portland). My hope is that a real consensus can come out of the debate, and a real policy can take shape. Take part if you are so willing. Kingturtle 02:13, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC) P.S. The history of the debate can also be reviewed and discussed at Are high schools encyclopedic? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Precedents#Are_high_schools_encyclopedic.3F_-_Yes).
Jeb Bush
I noticed that you were one of the first to edit the Jeb Bush article a couple of years ago. There is currently a dispute over the article's neutrality, photographs and formatting. It would be great if you could give your opinion on the matter. Thanks much. --BaronLarf 18:34, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)
expos/nationals debate
There is a major debate going on, and I wondered if you might want to chime in. The debate involves how to deal with franchise moves in baseball. The question is whether Montréal Expos should be its own article or if it should redirect to Washington Nationals. All other instances of franchise moves in MLB redirect the old team name to the new team name, and the history of the franchise is covered within the new team name (for MLB, NBA and NFL examples, see here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Votes_for_deletion/Montr%E9al_Expos). Some people are confused and think the Expos and the Nats are different teams. Some people don't want to upset Canadian readers.
Indeed, the Washington Nationals are not a new team - the Montreal Expos franchise has moved to Washington, and the old franchise name should redirect to the new franchise name, just like the 20+ instances of this occuring in Wikipedia. For example, Brooklyn Dodger history resides in the Los Angeles Dodgers article. New York Giants history, including the Shot Heard 'Round the World, resides in the San Francisco Giants article.
If you have the time, maybe you could chime in on the conversation there, Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Montréal Expos. Kingturtle 17:21, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
cult of stalin picture
Greetings, I'm interested in the picture you uploaded for the Stalin Cult of personality page. Any idea what building is pictured?
