Pictures
At this point I really don't care about the status of pictures I've uploaded before notation was standardized. Most are public domain; some are simply conversions of pictures others have uploaded. Given the cavalier picture deletion activities that have evidently occurred while I was on break, I don't feel too bad about this attitude either. - Hephaestos|§ 06:14, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Sumo.jpeg
Hi Hephaestos, I was wondering about the copyright status of Image:Sumo.jpeg. It is tagged as public domain and comes from [1] (http://runiicomputing.fnal.gov/strongdynamics/web/strongdynamicsposter.html). How do we know this is public domain? silsor 04:54, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Because it is from a .gov website. - Hephaestos|§ 08:25, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- We know that works of the US federal government are PD, but what about random photos from a 1994 Fermilab poster that just happens to be on a .gov web site? I'm not trying to be difficult, just labeling images more accurately. silsor 15:14, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- If it were a non-government photo there would be an author or a disclaimer on it; there's none. - Hephaestos|§ 01:49, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, copied this talk to the image page. silsor 15:26, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)

your fr:page
fr:Utilisateur:Hephaestos is a redirect to fr:Utilisateur:Mr. Fuck and seems often vandalised, must we restore the page at his original place and protect it ? please reply on fr:discussion utilisateur:phe phe 05:04, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, but it wasn't really me, sir! And I don't even have an account on French or Hungarian Wikipedia. That's the truth! -- Mike Garcia | talk 16:53, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Now somebody redirected it to fr:Utilisateur:Vagina this time. I didn't do that either. -- Mike Garcia | talk 04:34, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I revered a minor vandalism ("fuck", twice) yesterday on Confederation. There was a vandalism on my page on fr: afterwards, "Yeah, right, I said fuck you" (minor too, obvious lack of imagination) signed with your signature on fr: - from an ip of course. Ok, I didn't think for a second you did that. Looks like you have some enemy. Didup 07:54, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Nope, that wasn't me either. Please don't ban me again. -- Mike Garcia | talk 14:49, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Michael confirms
Since you're back, Hephaestos. I would just like to confirm that I was NOT at your french Wikipedia account at all. I did not even move your page and everything. Feel free to e-mail me. -- Mike Garcia | talk 23:08, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Methinks thou dost protest too much. How is it, Michael, that you always know when someone harrasses me here? - Hephaestos|§ 08:41, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Hephaestos, I'm just trying to wish that you'd understand that it wasn't me at your language accounts. Please, I don't want to be banned again! -- Mike Garcia | talk 17:11, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Farewell
Sorry to see you getting sick of the place. Le sigh - another good user bites the dust. Ambi 03:28, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Best wishes, Heph, drop a line if you want to get together for a beer sometime. I'll buy. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 02:34, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hi Hephaestos, sorry to see you go :-( I protected your user page on german wikipedia since someone (Michael?) kept reverting it. Drop me a note on de:Benutzer Diskussion:Elian if you want to unprotect it again. Best wishes, --Elian 01:55, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I didn't know that you had gone. Please come back (even though you are ahead of me in the statistics). Deb 21:57, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, Elian, but it wasn't me who vandalized his page on German Wikipedia and I never ever did that. It's just too bad he had to leave probably because of me thinking I did it but, it really wasn't me and I didn't do this one (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=10380613) either. Please, I don't want to be banned again! -- Mike Garcia | talk 15:41, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
missed you
I came to your page because I wanted your opinion of a paragraph that I'd added to Nobel Peace Prize. But you're not here. That's good - there are 314,159,265 better things to do than sit around and edit Wikipedia. You're probably doing at least 27 of them. Cheers, -Willmcw 05:40, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
