Nice work on Irving... I dont know if youve read the talk page, but theres plenty that I wrote this morning - its on the second version (that was crudely removed) and Ortolan volunteered to deal with some of it. (I'm recusing myself for the time being of directly editing the article.) The tone youve set is ideal, I must say; I had a miserable time trying to balance an article of that nature. But it did lead me to some insights, about the person, and what he really represents, and you hit on some of these things as well. --Stevert

Hi Gretchen. I have reverted some of your edits to the illegal combatant article. Please see that article's talk page for an explanation. Chadloder 01:41 Apr 9, 2003 (UTC)

Tooth Fairy Rule

... you can only invoke a mysterious outside force (the tooth fairy, for example) to explain the unexplainable once in a story.

Does this mean

  • only mysterious outside forces, rather than non-mysterious things, can be so invoked, or
  • such things can be invoked only for the purpose of such explanations, and not for other purposes, or
  • such a thing may be invoked only once, or
  • once you are in a story, but not before, you may invoke such a thing?

Student nurse uniform

Hi there, it seems that you've removed the line: "However, student nurses are more likely to wear practical and durable "scrubs", eschewing the old-fashioned cap and ruffles these days." from this page a while back without any explanation. I'm going to put it back, if you have issues with the factual accuracy or tone of the sentence, could you please mention it on the talk page. thanks. Matt 17:16, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Faludi & Rule of thumb

Whatever connection you had in mind is not apparent, & i'm killing the lk in Susan Faludi to Rule of thumb. If you're keeping a secret, let us in on it via Talk:Susan Faludi. --Jerzy·t 15:36, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)
