Frikle, I've put lifnei iver on WP:VFD. This is much too detailed for wikipedia. I'm sorry for the good work you've done to it, but this article should have been deleted in March... I'm working on a special project for articles on Judaism on Wikipedia, together with user:Fintor. Interested? JFW | T@lk 23:26, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Well, looking on WP:VFD#lifnei iver it seems lifnei iver is here to stay! I've added some material, and I keep on wondering if anyone looking on a general encyclopedia will ever want to read about this. Perhaps Jewpedia might have been a better resource.
- Wouldn't we love a wikified Gemara? Click on Abayei, get his biography! Click on Pesach, get a review of Pesach-related material. Click on Teiku, get a list of all Teiku 's in Shas!!
- It seems you have made anonymous edits before getting your present username. Make sure you have your "anon" edits credited to your name! JFW | T@lk 11:00, 6 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Categories
Many Jewish articles have grown a list of categories. While I applaud this categorisation, I feel there is a lot of overlinking (all articles were suddenly in Category:Rabbis, while this was unnecessary). I have deleted a large number of instances and discussed this with User:IZAK, who did most of the categorisation. You might care to review the categorisations whenever you edit a Jewish page... Attribution of edits
Hi, you mentioned that I should get my previous anonymous contributions credited to my account. Do you know how to do this? (from my talk page)
You'll have to identify the edits yourself, and then list them on Wikipedia:Changing_attribution_for_an_edit. A developer (who are generally quite busy) will change the attrib to you. JFW | T@lk 13:37, 13 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Shalom
Hi Frikle:I just wanted to say hello, and to let you know that I have seen your work and I want to encourage you to continue as you are doing. I do NOT agree with JFW | T@lk that there should be some sort of "statute of limitations" on entries concerning anything about Torah and Judaism. I think his comment about "Jewpedia" stinks, and that he should be ashamed of himself, can you imagine someone criticizing Christians for addding "too many details which should go in 'Christianpedia'" ? The whole idead of Wikipedia is that it is an OPEN encyclopedia and no-one has the right to start limiting articles. Take a look at how many articles JFW | T@lk adds on Medicine, since he is a Dr. he is blind to the fact that most people don't give a hoot about all the DETAILED medical information he never tires of giving...and no-one tells him "This is not Medipedia"...So keep up your good work and do as you see fit, Wikipedia needs MORE people like you. Once again again, best wishes. By the way, you can see the method of categoriztion for all things Jewish at Category:Jews and Judaism where I am trying to craete a systematic order out of anything related to Jews, Judaism and Israel. - IZAK, for the record: I am certainly not against a proliferation of Jewish articles on Wikipedia. I appreciate that I'm a deletitionist on Jewish articles while warmly encouraging medical curiosities like TTP and Amiodarone. My view is based on the fact that Jewish articles very quickly attract POV problems. It's a matter of time before lifnei iver gets a seperate paragraph that will tell us the views of the Conservative Rabbinical Assembly, who ride roughshod through some Acharonim before telling us that everything depends on your own perceptions, basing themselves on a misreading of Rashi on the posuk... This doesn't happen to TTP and Amiodarone.
- I am not involved in Jewpedia, and similarly I don't care for Medipedia or WikiMD (two medical wikis). JFW | T@lk 10:26, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Hi Frikle, thanks for your thoughts on IZAK's talk page. As I asked IZAK, perhaps we should indeed start a WikiProject Judaism and work out together if we should have some form of standard for articles pertaining to Judaism.
An example: lots of material is actually from the 1906 Jewish Encyclopedia, which is now public domain. This material bears the imprint of the "Wissenschaft des Judentums" school that would later develop into Conservative Judaism, and hence a lot of these articles need a lot of work. A glance at Nahmanides should give some food for thought. An example of some improvals is Samuel ben Judah ibn Tibbon, which I wikified and updated from a 1906 article.
I'll try and draft some form of "statement of intentions" for a Wikiproject. We will probably have user:IZAK, user:Fintor, user:RK and ourselves as participants. Please tell me how you feel about this. JFW | T@lk 12:06, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Category:Hebrew Bible verses
Hello Frikle: See the verses in Category:Hebrew Bible verses with the two samples so far: Genesis 1:1, and Genesis 1:2. Is this the way the Torah verses should be "presented"? (Compare with the verses in Category:New Testament verses.) At what point should the classical teachings of famous meforshim be inserted, and in what way and how much? The time to decide on this is now, because at this stage the "project" is still being "formed" by User:Neutrality alone. Thank you. IZAK 03:04, 26 May 2005 (UTC)
