Sharpie
Do you really feel that it is valuable to note that Sharpies are available in Fine, Extra Fine, Ultra Fine, Super, Twin, Super Twin, Chisel, Metallic, Grip, Industrial, and Professional tips, and in Yellow, Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Red, Brown, Purple, Turquoise, Lime, Aqua, Berry, Olive, Marigold, Navy, Plum, Burgundy, and Silver ink? This strikes me as verging on silly. I won't delete valid information, but I have to ask why you thought it was worthwhile to include it. Dpbsmith 23:42, 9 May 2004 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for vastly improving the Sharpie article and the image. I took the Sharpie photo but forgot to add the GFDL notice. I modified Image:Sharpie.png accordingly. - Ivan 22:38, May 10, 2004 (UTC)

Where did you get the image from? I'm asking because I'm trying to work out what type it is.Geni 03:30, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Bobby Timmons
Al, I added some info about Timmons' death. He was born today... same day as me! --Vince251 08:39, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Fair use screen shots
I see you've added the famous "moon behind skyscraper" image to Koyaanisqatsi. It's very nice, but you probably should check out Wikipedia:Fair use, which describes the steps you need to go through to use fair use images in Wikipedia. One of those is establishing a rationale for the use, which I didn't see at Image:Koyaanisqatsi Moon Frame.jpg. Thanks in advance! -- hike395 02:11, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- I don't know much about copyright, so I can't help you with specifics, I'm afraid. The information at Image description page#Fair use rationale has a link to a Purdue article about how to create rationales for fair use. Hope this helps. -- hike395 05:29, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Speedy tags on songs
Please do not put speedy delete tags on short articles about songs by famous bands. Take them to votes for deletion if you wish. Kappa
Moving pages
You don't need to manually edit redirects after you've moved them. I think you'll find that redirects are created automatically.
In any case, doing so is counterproductive, because if someone wants to move a page back to its title, if the original page has more than just one edit, the move will fail. Thanks and HTH Dysprosia 06:26, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll remember not to change them manually. Thanks for the tip. Bungopolis 06:27, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Amoeba Music
Hi Al. I noticed your deletion request for Commons:Image:Amoeba Music San Francisco Exterior.jpg. I left a comment at Commons:Commons:Deletion requests#Image:Amoeba_Music_San_Francisco_Exterior.jpg. In my opinion, the right thing to do would have been to simply upload the darkened version of the photo over the washed-out version. See Commons:Image:Pretzel.jpg for an example. Cheers, dbenbenn | talk 23:43, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I'm sorry! I was badly confused; I've explained at Commons:Commons:Deletion requests#Image:Amoeba_Music_San_Francisco_Exterior.jpg. dbenbenn | talk 01:37, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Image:United States Postal Service Truck.jpg
I cropped your photo (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:United_States_Postal_Service_Truck.jpg) so it looks better on the United States Postal Service page. Hopefully you like the change, but if not, feel free to revert it of course. - SCEhardt 01:51, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Quarto by email
Hi Bungopolis, a new mailing list has been set up to distribute news about the Wikimedia foundation, specifically at the moment to publicise Quarto. I saw your name on the quarto talk page requesting a copy by email, and I think this mailing list is how we're going to do it for the moment. It'll be a html email, which I've added to the Quarto talk page m:Talk:WQ. Mailing list is called Foundation-news-l (http://mail.wikipedia.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-news-l) (We also need translators!) Cheers w:User:Cormaggio

Thanks for the copyright reminder on Missing image

bushbulge image
I know the source is a video capture from PBS broadcast, but I'm not sure about the licensing from such a show. Isn't PBS public domain as its not for profit? --kizzle 23:58, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)
response
I got a lot of that Jason Webley stuff not from springman but from Jason himself. He wrote the bio for his press packet. He is a friend of mine, and weird guy at that, and has no problem writing in the third person. I had no idea that what was buried in the bowels of Jason's site was also on the springman site. Although Avi, the owner of springman records and a friend of my fiance, may have copywrighted material markings on the webley page at the springman site, springman people did not write it.
