My name is Darin Brown. I studied mathematics at University of California, Santa Barbara (http://www.ucsb.edu); my advisor was Jeffrey Stopple (http://www.math.ucsb.edu/~stopple) (which makes Harold Stark my grandparent (http://www.genealogy.ams.org/index.html)), and my research interests lie in algebraic number theory and Fuchsian groups. In particular, my dissertation examined how prime geodesics in quotients of the hyperbolic plane by certain Fuchsian groups lift to higher surfaces determined by congruence subgroups.
I am currently working as a poker dealer at Chumash Casino (http://www.chumashcasino.com) in Santa Ynez, California.
My interests and areas of knowledge include mathematics, music, film, poker, chess, comics, and baseball. This list is not exhaustive.
