University of Portsmouth

The University of Portsmouth is the only University in the city of Portsmouth. It was a polytechnic until 1992. The polytechnic itself evolved from the Portsmouth and Gosport School of Science and Arts, which was founded in 1869. It is 'inside' the city and does not have its own dedicated campus. It offers a wide variety of courses.
