The United States Small Business Administration (often SBA) is a United States government agency that provides resources to American small businesses and entrepreneurs.
The SBA's mission is listed on its website:
- Maintain and strengthen the nation's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting and protecting the interests of small businesses and by helping families and businesses recover from national disasters.
It also rewards government contractors who assist in meeting quota guidelines by subcontracting with Small Business Enterprises (SBE) and businesses with less than 5 employees termed Very Small Business Enterprises (VSBE).
