Ulchs

The Ulchis or Ul'chs (Ульчи, ольчи in Russian; self designation: пани, or pani) are an indigenous people of Siberia. They live in the Khabarovsk region, on the lower Amur. 90% of them live within the district of Ulchi. The Ulchi language belongs to the Tungusic language family. According to the 2002 census, there were 2913 Ulchs in Russia (2,400 in 1970).
Anthropologically, the Ulchis are Mongoloid. Some of them belong to the so-called Sakhalin-Amur group, like the Nivkhs.Template:Ethno-stub
