Three United States Navy ships have been named USS Gridley in honor of Charles Vernon Gridley (1844–1898), an officer in the Navy during the American Civil War and the Spanish-American War.
- The first, Gridley (DD-92), was a Wickes-class destroyer, launched in 1918 and struck in 1937.
- The second, Gridley (DD-380), was the lead ship of her class of destroyers. She was launched in 1936 and struck in 1947.
- The third, Gridley (DLG-21), was a Leahy-class guided-missile frigate, launched in 1961 and struck in 1994. John Kerry served aboard her during the Vietnam War. In 1975, she was redesignated a guided-missile cruiser, CG-21.
- A fourth, Gridley (DDG-101), is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. As of 2005, she is under construction at Bath Iron Works.
