U.S. Highway 102

US 102 is a long-defunct designation for a largely east-west highway entirely within Michigan, now wholly incorporated into the section of U.S. Highway 41 between Covington, Michigan and Rapid River, Michigan. It was the "child" of its "parent" U.S. Highway 2, meeting it in Rapid River.
In the original 1926 United States Highway plan, US 41 took a westward course on US 2 to Iron Mountain, whence it took a northerly course corresponding to what became U.S. Highway 141 to Covington, and then continued northward along the current route of US 41 to Copper Harbor.
Very early, US 41 was redirected to incorporate US 102, and US 141 was extended north of Green Bay, Wisconsin to incorporate the section of what had been US 41 between Iron Mountain and Covington. US 102 became a superfluous designation and was deleted completely.
