Treen
|
Treen is handmade household good made of wood. Anything from wooden plates and bowls to shoehorns and chopping boards would be classed as treen. This is distinct from furniture, such as chairs, and cabinetry, such as clocks and cupboards.
Treen is also a small village in the far west of Cornwall, England. It sits on top of the headland above pedn vounder, a most beautiful beach. Other places of interest in the vicinity of Treen are the "Logan Rock" - this is a large rock out on the headland that is finely balanced and a grown adult is capable of rocking. The rock is famous because it was pushed off the headland into the sea by a bunch of rowdy drunk sailors in 1824, and because it was such a popular tourist spot, the locals then forced them to put it back...
