Transportation in Tuvalu

Transportation in Tuvalu is limited. A ferry runs between the main atolls. There are 8km of roads and no railways.
Funafuti is the only port, there is also a deep-water berth in the harbor at Nukufetau. The merchant marine fleet consists of four ships of 1,000 GRT or over, totaling 33,199 GRT/56,187 DWT. This comprises two cargo ships, one passenger/cargo ship and one petroleum tanker (1999 data).
The only airport is Funafuti Atoll International Airport, IATA code FUN. There are flights to Fiji and Kiribati.
