Timothy Renton

Ronald Timothy Renton, Baron Renton of Mount Harry, PC (b. 28 May 1932), is a British politician. He rarely uses his first name and was more frequently known as Timothy Renton before he was elevated to the peerage.
Timothy Renton was former Conservative Member of Parliament for Mid-Sussex. In 1997 he was created a life peer and took his seat in the House of Lords.
Lord Renton now lives in Offham near Lewes in East Sussex and has a holiday home on the Hebredean island of Tiree. Mount Harry was the site of the Battle of Lewes in 1264.
In 1960 he married Louise Frances Balfour Stratford Dugdale, who died in 1988. Their five children are Alexander James Torr Renton, Daniel Charles Antony Renton, Christian Louise Renton, Katherine Chelsea Renton and Penelope Sally Rosita Renton. Alexander Renton is a journalist for The Guardian.
