Tibialis anterior
|
the tibialis anterior muscle originates from the lateral condyle on the upper half of the tibia and the interosseous membrane.
from here it extends downwards and across to the medial aspect of the foot, anterior to the medial malleolus.
it continues around the meadial aspect and down to the plantar surface of the foot where it inserts into the base of the first metatarsal and first cuneiform.
the actions of tibialis anterior include dorsi flexion and inversion of the foot.
