Thinktank, Birmingham
|
Thinktank is a science museum in Birmingham, England.
It is part of the Millennium Point complex.
Its key exhibits are the Smethwick Engine (the oldest working engine in the world, made by Boulton and Watt in 1779) and the LMS steam locomotive, City of Birmingham.
It also has a Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane hanging from the ceiling, a Birmingham tram, motorcycles, cars and a working robotic arm from a car plant that can be activated at the touch of a button.
There is a gallery about Birmingham's industrial and wartime herritage, with a short film about the old Bull Ring shopping center.
Another gallery looks to the future. One of its attractions is a robotic drummer, that imitates the visitor's own drum patterns.
