The Beast (Angel)

The Beast is a fictional demon on the television series Angel. He first appeared in the Season Four episode "Rain of Fire". He was brought to Earth from Hell by a powerful deity known only as Jasmine to pave the way for her entrance to the Earth.
The first people to ever encounter the Beast were Cordelia Chase and Connor, who found the Beast arriving on Earth at the exact spot at which Connor had been born. A fight ensued, during which Cordelia was injured. Believing that he had something to do with the coming apocalypse, Connor distanced himself from his teammates, who did not trust him.
Angel, Gunn, and Lorne decided to take on The Beast. Wesley rejoined them to help in the battle, but they failed nonetheless, and were all badly injured. The Beast then conjured a rain of fire over Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Connor and a Jasmine-influenced Cordelia had sex, conceiving Jasmine's mortal form. Other attempts to take on The Beast resulted in failure and the blocking out of the sun. The Beast, in an attempt to eliminate all who could oppose him, killed everyone working at Wolfram and Hart. The only survivors were Lilah Morgan, Wesley and Connor, who battled The Beast inside. During their escape, the corpses of the dead Wolfram and Hart employees were reanimated as zombies.
Believing that their only hope was in Angel's evil alter ego Angelus, who had known The Beast in the past, the heroes turned Angel into Angelus. This was accomplished by a shaman, who gave Angel the illusion of a perfect day in which he and his son were reunited and defeated the Beast with a sacred weapon, and he and Cordelia were allowed to be together.
Once freed, Angelus refused to help, broke free and for a time joined forces with The Beast. Wesley broke Faith out of jail to assist the heroes. She was beaten badly in battle with The Beast. In the end it was Angelus who, in an act of betrayal, stabbed The Beast with one of its own horns, as he had correctly surmised that the only thing that could kill the Beast was the Beast itself. The sun returned after The Beast's death, leaving Faith in the sunlight and Angelus confined to the shadows.
