Temple is a town located in Cotton County, Oklahoma. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,146.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²). 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,146 people, 488 households, and 301 families residing in the town. The population density is 337.8/km² (876.8/mi²). There are 604 housing units at an average density of 178.0/km² (462.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 75.65% White, 11.34% African American, 4.89% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 4.71% from other races, and 3.23% from two or more races. 7.24% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 488 households out of which 27.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.1% are married couples living together, 12.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.3% are non-families. 34.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.27 and the average family size is 2.93.
