Tarannon Falastur
|
Tarannon Falastur is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth, the twelfth King of Gondor. He succeeded his father Siriondil in T.A. 830. The expansion of Gondor started under his reign as he started the construction of Gondor's navies. He was therefore the first of the 'Ship-kings'.
His reign was troubled by the intrigues of his queen, Berúthiel who spied on everyone within the kingdom. When she went too far he sent her into exile. As a consequence he died childless (in T.A. 913) and was succeeded by his nephew Eärnil I.
