Talk:Main Path

Hm, I have not attempted anything of the sort. All I did was click on "Random page". BTW, shouldn#t it be http://www.wikipedia.org? KF 21:30 31 May 2003 (UTC)
- I never type www., when accessing the site... Hadn't thought of it appearing on random pages... كسيپ Cyp 05:44 6 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Shouldn't this be at Wikipedia:Main Path, or will that confuse the software? -- Merphant 07:08 9 Jun 2003 (UTC)
- It could...earlier this used to redirect to Main Page if I'm not mistaken. And moving will create a redirect. --Geoffrey 23:32, 8 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- It was supposed to point to the main page. I must have misspelled it when we were setting up the new web server a few months back. The link is now fixed, so I've redirecting this page as well. --Brion 04:50, 18 Aug 2003 (UTC)
And italicising "etc." makes anything more clear? -_^ -- Toby Bartels 02:07 12 Jun 2003 (UTC)
- Probably to distinguish it from a filename extension. -- Timwi 20:43 12 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Ah, you may have a point there! But of course, my arbitrary conventions are more correct than your arbitrary conventions. ;) -- Oliver P. 03:14 12 Jun 2003 (UTC)
Is there any reason why the software doesn't automatically redirect (301 Moved Permanently) to the /wiki/<something> URL? -- Timwi 20:43 12 Jun 2003 (UTC)
- If you're saying redirect /x to /wiki/x, it's because, as was mentioned on a mailing list, they would have to support those URLs and not break them in a software upgrade. --Geoffrey 23:32, 8 Aug 2003 (UTC)
I changed the example URLs to red, because the blue makes them look too much like live, clickable links. - Hephaestos 17:05 12 Jul 2003 (UTC)
