Talk:Color (disambiguation)
|
"Color is a visible property of light, and derived from this, of objects"? Color is caused by properties of light, in that the color of an object consists of those aspects of its way of reflecting light that we can perceive. But epistemologically, isn't the order reversed in the sentence above? Different frequencies of light are said have different colors only because differences in those frequencies were discovered to be part of the causal chain by which we perceive colors of objects; colors of objects were known first.
