Talk:BLAME!

I think this article could use a lot less wiki links. A good example of how I think the article should be done; should you want to add information on every character and every organization, etc. that's in the manga; is the way the Naruto article does it. It breaks it down into different categories--characters, jutsus, advanced bloodlines, geography, and ninja ranks--each of which have their own article. Similarly, instead of creating links for every character or organization, we could have one article titled BLAME! characters, another one titled BLAME! species/BLAME! races/BLAME! organizations/BLAME! whatever, and so on, and then link to those articles from the main BLAME! article. Also right now, I think the character information for the three main characters is a little long for the main article, and perhaps some of the information should be dropped or shifted to the characters page. As I mentioned in the Talk:Gravitational Beam Emitter, I believe you're right, I was being too wiki-link-happy after creating my first article. We should try and split them up then somehow, leaving the main three (or four if including Dhomochevsky) characters as individual articles (after reading the Naruto section), but linking to them from the BLAME! characters page. The other characters can resides there, with links to their relevant species and/or organisations.
I think that would do for the time being. - Turbanator 15:06 GMT, 19/07/2004
- After looking over what you've written on each character, without meaning to offend, I have to say that it's exhaustive to the point of uselessness. Anyone looking for a quick rundown of anything in the BLAME! universe is going to be in for some loooong reading times, as they sift through everything you've written so far, and all that you plan on writing. Even looking at the Graviton Beam Emitter article, I have to stop and say to myself, "This is an article about a gun. A gun from a managa. It's longer than articles on some historical figures here on Wikipedia." I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm for writing on Wikipedia, but I think the scope of what you want to do is a little too large, and could be helped by some massive editting and trimming down.
- Maybe a single page for all of the characters, and no more than 2 or 3 paragraphs for each of the main characters. (And yeah, I think I'd add Dhomochevsky as a main character before I'd add Sanakan.) My suggestion before of a 'BLAME! races' or 'BLAME! organizations' article seem a bit excessive now, as each of these probably only need a few sentences each and would fit just fine into the main article. But yeah, I'd argue for the removal of the Killy article once you've moved all of the 'meat' of the article to the [[BLAME! characters] page, and then we'll see what we can do about other stuff. I thought about doing it myself, but seeing as this is your first major contribution to Wikipedia I don't want to act too heavy-handedly and scare you off.

Was the first volume really released in 1988? It looks like a typo if you look at the others :/ Philip Nilsson 10:38, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)
