Several communities in the United Kingdom are called Sunderland.
The industrial city and port on the North Sea coast of England has two entries:
- Sunderland, which was a part of the traditional county of Durham
- City of Sunderland. Originally formed when several areas were amalgamated into a district of the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear in 1974. City status followed in 1992.
Sunderland is also the name of several municipalities in the United States, including Sunderland, Massachusetts.
