Spiritual plane

The Spiritual Plane is a term used for the fraction of reality which is not readily visible by means of ordinary perception. Although many people do not believe in the Spiritual Plane and its existence has not (and some say can not) be proven, the concept can be traced back to the likes of Paganism, Shamanism and other various early spiritual and religious institutions. Indeed many believers in the spiritual plane would place notions such as Heaven within its boundaries.
The Spiritual Plane has existed conceptually in many different guises throughout the history of mankind, but the term itself probably came into use around the 1960s during the flower power movement. Holistic sciences depend heavily upon the concept of the Spiritual Plane and the manipulation of the aura for the benefit of the subject. This idea of the Spiritual Plane varies from person to person, but it is generally agreed among holistic types that it is some transcendental fraction of reality which ultimately holds some sway over the fate of our day-to-day lives.
The Spiritual Plane may also be thought of as a corollary to the various energies whose interactions govern the laws of Physics in the ordinary universe. Many advocates of this form of spirituality remark that their view of the Spiritual Plane is simply another way of looking at and manipulating these energies. In this way it may be said that the Spiritual Plane is not truly a separate plane as such, but simply a reflection of our own reality (Or vice versa).
However many other people believe that the spiritual plane is a far more tangible place in which spiritual entities and energies dwell. Depending on the person's belief system, these range from the souls of the dead to Gods, Demons and Neumena. The contrast between this view and the one given above demonstrates that the nature of the Spiritual Plane depends very much upon an individual's beliefs (as is often the nature of spirituality).
