Spiked
|
Spiked is a British internet magazine focussing on politics, culture and society. Its analysis is derived from a mixture of left-wing and libertarian theses, though it is not an anarchist publication.
The magazine was founded in 2000 after the closure of its predecessor, the print based title LM magazine. LM stood for Living Marxism and was closed after losing a libel case brought against it by the UK broadcaster ITN.
Both Spiked and LM have been heavily criticised by other left-wing publications and individuals who seek to portray it as a right-wing publication.
Spiked is edited by Mick Hume and features regular contributions from James Heartfield, Brendan O'Neill and Dr. Frank Furedi.
