South Branch Township is a civil township in Wexford County in the U.S state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 330.

Hoxeyville is a small unincorporated community in the southeast corner of the township at Template:Coor dms. The FIPS place code is 39600 and the elevation is 1132 feet above sea level.
Michigan State Highway 55 (Caberfae Highway) traverses the township east-west and Michigan State Highway 37 crosses north-south along the west side. The city of Cadillac is about 15 miles to the east along M-55.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 93.6 km² (36.1 mi²). 93.5 km² (36.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.06% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 330 people, 148 households, and 92 families residing in the township. The population density is 3.5/km² (9.1/mi²). There are 429 housing units at an average density of 4.6/km² (11.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.18% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 1.52% from two or more races. 1.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 148 households out of which 22.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.7% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.8% are non-families. 32.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.23 and the average family size is 2.82.
