- This article is about the 1962 film. For the Beastie Boys' song by the same title, see Something's Got To Give (song).
Something's Got To Give (1962) is 37 minutes of unfinished film, directed by George Cukor and starring Marilyn Monroe and Dean Martin.
Marilyn was fired due to lateness on the set, but at Martin's insistence she was rehired. The film was never finished as Monroe died in August 1962, bringing production to a premature end.
The film was supposed to be a romantic comedy and shows Marilyn in a maternal role (she would have loved to have had children herself) and a nude bathing scene.
It was a remake of "My Favourite Wife", starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne in 1942. Later, shortly after Marilyn's death, they made the same plot into "Move over Darling" with Doris Day and James Garner.
