Solar Jetman: Hunt for the Golden Warpship was the third video game in the Jetpac series. It was designed and developed by Zippo Games for Rare and released in the US by Tradewest in 1990, and in Europe by Nintendo, for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was later released by Nintendo for their Nintendo Entertainment System based Play Choice 10 arcade system.
It is a side scrolling shooter game. The object is to collect items and bring them back to the mothership. There are twelve planets and one hidden planet.
Like many other games published by Tradewest, Solar Jetman is considered a difficult game.
Other Ports
Sales Curve Interactive announced ports of Solar Jetman for the ZX Spectrum (to be handled by STORM) and Commodore 64 (for which Software Creations were contracted) ports of the game were previewed but never released. The Commodore 64 version was completed and has subsequently been unearthed by Games That Weren't C64 (http://gtw64.retro-net.de/).
