Sogndal is a municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.
The local football team, Sogndal I.L., plays in the Norwegian Premier League (2003).
In 1917, a Sogndal farmer ploughed up the Eggjum stone, a gravestone with runic inscriptions important for the history of the Norse language.
