Show Low, Arizona

Show Low, Arizona is a town in east central Arizona, on the Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 6,400 feet. It is located in Navajo County, Arizona. In 2002, a large forest fire, the Rodeo-Chediski fire, threatened the town and forced an evacuation. The town is near extensive forests, and in normal times is a popular recreational area. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,695.
The poker game for which the town is named was won by a deuce of clubs, the name of the town's main street.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 72.3 km² (27.9 mi²). 72.2 km² (27.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.25% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 7,695 people, 2,885 households, and 2,117 families residing in the city. The population density is 106.6/km² (276.2/mi²). There are 4,337 housing units at an average density of 60.1/km² (155.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 88.99% White, 0.27% Black or African American, 3.92% Native American, 0.65% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 4.05% from other races, and 2.03% from two or more races. 10.33% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,885 households out of which 34.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.2% are married couples living together, 11.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% are non-families. 21.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.64 and the average family size is 3.07.
In the city the population is spread out with 29.2% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 15.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.5 males.
