Shirley Temple cocktail
|
A Shirley Temple is a non-alcoholic cocktail made with lemon-lime soda and Grenadine syrup, garnished with a cherry and slice of lemon or orange. It is often served to children dining with elders to let them share the experience of drinking a cocktail.
The drink was invented at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was named for the famous child actor Shirley Temple, who often stayed at the hotel and dined with other celebrities at its restaurants.
