Shabana Azmi

Shabana Azmi (born 18 September 1950 at New Delhi, India) is the daughter of famous Urdu poet Kaify Azmi.
An actress par excellance, she has starred in some great Indian films like Ankur, Mandi, Arth, Sparsh, Godmother and Tehzeeb to name a few.
One of the leading actresses of parallel cinema, she is now married to the lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar.
In 1998, she was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund.
